Wanderish is not open yet. The only thing this site does is take a waitlist signup, so this policy is short — it describes that one form and nothing else.
When you join the waitlist, we store:
That is the entire record attached to your signup. We do not ask for your name, and there is no account to create.
Separately, we measure how this page is used. That is not connected to your signup, and some of it uses cookies — described in full below.
We count visits and record which parts of the page people interact with — pages viewed, what gets clicked, and the general type of device and browser. Your IP address is used at the moment of the visit to work out an approximate location, and is not stored.
Two separate tools do this, and they behave differently, so it is worth being precise about which is which.
The first sets no cookies. Nothing is stored on your device and you are given no identifier. Its measurements are anonymous and are not linked to your email address, even when you sign up — it records that a signup happened, not who made it.
The second does set cookies, and you should know what that means. It is a widely used analytics service that stores a small identifier in your browser so it can recognise your device on a later visit. That same provider operates across a very large number of other websites and an advertising network, so the data can in principle be combined with your activity elsewhere. We use it only to understand traffic to this page; we do not run advertising and we do not upload your email address or any other identifying detail to it.
These cookies are only set if you accept them. We ask before setting anything, and until you answer, that tool runs in a restricted mode that stores nothing on your device. Declining costs you nothing — the site behaves identically. You can change your mind at any time, and clearing the choice below switches the cookies off straight away.
You can also refuse or delete these cookies in your browser settings, or use private browsing. Most tracker-blocking extensions stop them too.
We use all of this to judge whether the page explains the idea well enough for people to act on it. Nothing more.
When we send you an email, we measure whether it was opened and which links were clicked. Two mechanisms do this: a small invisible image is included in the message, and its download tells us the message was opened; and links are routed through a redirect that records the click before sending you on to the page you asked for.
We use this for one thing — judging whether an announcement was worth sending. It is not used to build a profile of you, and it is not shared with anyone.
You can prevent open tracking by blocking remote images in your mail client, which most clients allow and some do by default. Unsubscribing stops both, because it stops the mail. Note that open tracking is approximate at best: some mail providers load images automatically, which registers an open whether or not anyone read anything.
Our host also offers latitude, longitude and postal code alongside the fields above. We do not read them, and we do not store your IP address. City level answers the only question we have — which places people are writing in from — and the rest is more precise than we need.
We run no advertising on this site, we do not use device fingerprinting, and we never sell or rent your details. The analytics cookies described above are the only cookies set, and they exist to count visits — not to build an advertising profile for us.
The email address is used for one thing: to tell you when Wanderish opens. We are not running a newsletter, and we do not send marketing on anyone else’s behalf.
The destination and coarse location help us decide what to build first and which places to cover at launch, by showing us where interest is concentrated.
Running this site takes a few outside services: a hosting provider, an email delivery provider, and an analytics provider. Each handles data only to provide that service to us, under contract, and none of them may use it for their own purposes.
Your IP address is handled by our hosting provider in order to serve the page and to limit abuse of the signup form. We do not keep it.
All are based in the United States, and data is processed there.
Until you ask us to delete it, or until the waitlist has served its purpose and we retire it — whichever comes first.
Every email we send carries an unsubscribe link, which stops the mail. To have the record itself deleted — address, destination and location together — email hello@wanderish.app from the address you signed up with and we will remove it.
You can also ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, at the same address. We do not sell or share personal information, and we never have.
If what we collect changes, this page changes with it and the effective date above moves. Wanderish opening will mean collecting more than a waitlist needs, and this policy will be rewritten before that happens — not after.
